DETAIL
In my paintings I try to capture the atmosphere of historic rooms. To show the way that the light falls across objects , furniture and paneling. I want to give an impression of detail but in a painterly way, through suggestion rather than arduous effort. My paintings are impressionistic rather than detailed yet when first encountering my work many people think that they are photographs, until they look more closely.
