All the objects at Waddesdon are superb, they are all decorative, colourful, precious and visually quite fussy. But the impression that you have when you first enter the room is more than the sum of its parts.
It is in reality a very un-photogenic room. The camera sees every detail and gives everything equal importance. The human eye and brain glosses over the whole experience overload and that is what we remember. It is like drowning in honey.
